VR Experience: 360° Virus Expedition

This interactive, web-based 360° VR experience was created for the Google Expedition Educational VR platform. While the platform was sunsetted in 2021, the project has been recreated to clone the virtual experience. Developed by Biochromatic, this immersive desktop and VR experience allows the learner to explore a series of immersive scenes about viruses. Each scene features:

• High-resolution photospheres that place the learner inside visually rich environments related to the world of viruses.
• Narrated audio guides that introduce each scene and provide in-depth explanations of key concepts.
• Interactive hotspots that highlight points of interest, offering detailed overlays with scientific facts, images, and further explanations.
• Guided questions and answers at beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels to encourage critical thinking and self-assessment.
• Navigation controls that allow users to move seamlessly between scenes, simulating the original Google Expeditions experience.
• Educational overlays including diagrams, illustrations, and real-world examples to deepen understanding of viral biology, transmission, and prevention.

This VR expedition covers topics such as the size and diversity of viruses, how they infect cells, how they spread, and what can be done to prevent viral diseases. The experience is designed for learners of all ages and can be accessed on desktop or in VR, making it a valuable resource for classrooms, remote learning, or individual exploration.
